On July 24, 2009 (Friday), a group of 35 Medical Specialists practicing in the Philippines gathered at Max Restaurant along Roces Avenue to discuss matters of prime importance to the future of their practice in their chosen profession.
The group spontaneously and unanimously voted to call themselves the Medical Specialists Congress of the Philippines following the guidelines and program set forth by the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists since 2005.
They also adopted a 10 Articles of Medical Specialists Rights based on United Nation's Human Rights Declarations.
